Glen Hansard
Musician

Glen Hansard, the Oscar-winning singer-songwriter from Once who also starred and performed in The Commitments, will be honored at the 12th annual Oscar Wilde Awards in February.
The casual event, traditionally held on the Thursday night before the Academy Awards, will take place Feb. 23 at the home of J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company in Santa Monica. The always entertaining Abrams will emcee as well.
A native of Dublin, Hansard, 46, won his Oscar (shared with singer-pianist Marketa Irglova, his partner in The Swell Season) for their song “Falling Slowly” from John Carney’s Once (2007). They also starred in the BAFTA-winning film.
