Lenny Abrahamson, riding high with an Academy Award nomination for his direction of Room, will be among those honored at the 11th annual Oscar Wilde Awards next month.
The Dublin-born helmer will be saluted alongside actresses Daisy Ridley of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Sarah Greene of Penny Dreadful, The Late Late Show host James Corden and Northern Ireland rockers Snow Patrol on Feb. 25 — three days before the Oscars — at J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production offices in Santa Monica.
The nonprofit U.S.-Ireland Alliance created the casual event to recognize the contributions of the Irish (and even some who aren’t Irish) in film and television.
