Young Irish thesp Sarah Bolger, who will receive the Wilde Card award for rising talent at the Oscar Wilde Awards, joined Dublin’s Young Peoples Theater Co. when she was 5, and within a year was cast in Sid McCartney’s “A Love Divided.”
Her role in Jim Sheridan’s “In America” in 2001 propelled her into the limelight, earning her an Indie Spirit nom for newcomer.
Following a secondary role in Gilles MacKinnon’s drama “Tara Road” in 2005, she proved she could handle action and romance as the love interest in 2006’s teen adventure “Stormbreaker,” after which she segued to a leading role in Hollywood fantasy adventure “The Spiderwick Chronicles.”
