Acclaimed director Neil Jordan, Jim Sheridan and Belfast music producer David Holmes are to be presented with honorary awards at a event celebrating Irish film-writing in Los Angeles next month.
Actress Jodie Foster will present Jordan with the award at the US-Ireland Alliance’s ‘Oscar Wilde – Honouring Irish Writing in Film’ on March 2 next.
Sheridan, and Holmes, who wrote the score for Out of Sight and Buffalo Soldiers, will be presented with their accolades at the pre-academy awards party by Anjelica Huston and Adrian Dunbar.
Trina Vargo, president of the US-Ireland Alliance, said: “The event is designed to honour the craft of writing and expand the existing ties between the entertainment industries in the US and Ireland, particularly in film production, gaming, music and animation.”
